Jeni Herrera-Mullar
UESCA-certified running coach
My journey with running began in 7th grade, fueled not by being the fastest, but by the quiet challenge
of personal competition and the camaraderie of a team. For me, running has always been more than a
sport; it is my meditation, my therapy, and the perfect complement to life’s daily grind.
In 2022, my life took a significant turn when I was diagnosed with Guillain-Barré Syndrome. The disease
paralyzed me in just five days, leaving me hospitalized and unable to move. Losing that basic freedom
was a profound reminder of the joy of movement. After a year of intense therapy, re-teaching my body
how to do what I love, I returned to the road stronger than ever. Now in my 40s, I am hitting personal
records and have achieved the dream of qualifying for the Boston Marathon.
Running is a complement to my busy life, and I 100% believe this can be the case for anyone who wants
it. As a full-time Genetic Counselor and former professional violinist/teacher, I bring a unique “scientific
precision meets artistic discipline” approach to coaching. I understand the complexities of balancing a
demanding career and a family. My coaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that running is for
everyone. Whether you are a recreational runner or chasing a major milestone, I’m here to help you
prove that with consistency, a growth mindset, and a little perseverance, you can accomplish any goal
you set your mind to.
I can’t wait to help you reach your finish line!
