Fun First: The Big A## Calendar Episode with Taylor Prokes

One of the ways I’ve gotten myself into trouble over the past few years is by signing up for everything that interests me. Yoga, embroidery, part-time jobs, races I definitely wasn’t prepare to train for, you get the idea.

And I don’t try things out; I go in 100% until I don’t. (For example, not just taking a yoga class, but becoming a teacher.)

And while my “don’t think, just do” attitude has led me to some pretty cool places, it has also earned me several confidence-kicking DNFs.

Lately, though, I’ve been on a mission to become more intentional. To think and still take risks.

So it makes sense that The Big A** Calendar caught my attention. It’s a tool designed to help you see not just the next few weeks, but your whole year.

So maybe I don’t accidentally sign up for a marathon and an Ayahuasca retreat in the same month. (I was alarmingly close to booking an adventure with plant medicine on a whim last winter!)

How are people using this giant wall calendar? How can we use it to put our own lives into perspective? I personally would love to make the overwhelming things feel smaller and the small, meaningful things feel important enough to look forward to.

That’s why I ordered The Big A** Calendar, but when it showed up, we (the calendar and I) just kind of stared at each other.

I was afraid to use it.

Our guest today, Taylor Prokes, acknowledges that the calendar can feel intimidating to new users. And as the co-founder of The Big A** Calendar Company, she’s the expert on coaching planner-curious people like me.

In the episode, we talk about how to start plotting an incredible year using the 1-6-4 method. But I hope you leave with more than just calendar tips. I hope it makes you think about your time in a way that sets you up for fun, excitement, and a lot more finish lines.

And if you finish this episode immediately convinced you need a giant calendar on your wall too, you can grab one for 15% off at thebigasscalendar.com/mrwh. (Thank you, Taylor!)
