SUMMARY:NCR Marathon & Half Marathon
DESCRIPTION:Welcome to the 36th running of the NCR Marathon presented by the Baltimore Road Runners Club! \nThe 2025 NCR Trail Marathon & Half will be held on Saturday\, November 29\,2025 \nThe NCR Marathon is Baltimore’s oldest continuously running USATF certified marathon held annually on the Saturday following Thanksgiving. \nBRRC also presented the historic Maryland Marathon dating back to 1973 before moving to the Northern Central Railroad Trail in 1990. \nThe Northern Central Railroad Trail\, officially known as the Torrey C. Brown Trail\, covers nearly 20 miles in Maryland\, stretching from Hunt Valley to the Mason-Dixon Line. The out and back marathon course offers a scenic wooded run on a crushed gravel and dirt trail alongside the waters of Big Gunpowder Falls—an idyllic setting to cruise 26.2 miles. \nDuring the first few years\, the race originated at the Old Sparks Elementary School. After fire destroyed this historic school\, the marathon start and finish moved to mile four on the trail before relocating up the hill to the new Sparks Elementary School. \nIn 2003\, the marathon relay was introduced. For the 25th anniversary\, an 8K event was added to the marathon and marathon relay.  In 2017\, the marathon course was re-certified and its start moved to the beautiful Oldfields School campus\, our host site since. \nA lot has changed over the years\, but one thing that has stayed the same: this is a runner’s race. And\, as runners we take pride in continuing to make the NCR Marathon and Half Marathon a first-class event. \nThis is a FAST course and a great fall Boston Qualifier. \nRace finishers receive a large blanket. This isn’t your average beach blanket: this will be the most coveted piece in your home. Warm & soft\, even your fur babies will lay claim to this piece\, once it’s in your home. DESCRIPTION:The Charm City Run Kids XC Series is back and better than ever\, with a brand new morning start time! The series consists of five races for kids 14 and under. \nThere are age groups and distances for kids of all ages\, and our team is ready to cheer your little racers through what may be the first of many Finish Lines! \nWe’ll start with a fun warmup\, and then get the races going based on age/distance. Parents are welcome to run with their kids to encourage them and participate in the family fun! After the races\, we’ll have snacks to celebrate a great time. \n\nFive chances for kids of all ages to run!:\nGilman School – Sunday\, September 7th – (5407 Roland Ave.\, Baltimore\, MD) – 10:00AM \nMcDonogh – Sunday\, September 14th – (8600 McDonogh Road\, Owings Mills\, MD) – 10:00AM \nThe St. Paul’s Schools – Saturday\, September 27th – (11232 Falls Rd.\, Brooklandville\, MD) – 10:00AM – please note Saturday race \nHoward Community College – Sunday\, October 5th – (10901 Little Patuxent Pkwy\, Columbia\, MD 21044) – 10:00AM \nCarroll Park – Sunday\, October 19th – (1500 Washington Blvd.\, Baltimore\, MD) – 10:00AM \n**All participants will receive a ribbon\, and the top three girls and boys in each age group will receive a medal. \nLooking for a consistent fall family activity? DESCRIPTION:Roads close at 8 a.m.\, warm-up is at 8:15 a.m. and 5K begins at 8:30 a.m. \nNovice or advanced runners of all ages are invited to attend the 19th Annual Get Ready! Get Set! Get Fit! 5K Run/Walk and One-Mile Walk to support older adult health and fitness by raising much-needed funds for County senior exercise classes and fitness centers. \n\nEvent Details\nThe One-Mile Fun Walk is perfect for our youngest and oldest participants. The 5K race is chip-timed and professionally managed by Charm City Run. To celebrate National Senior Center Month\, National Falls Prevention Day and Active Aging Week\, free fall prevention and health and fitness screenings will be offered\, as well as vendor tables and displays. \nParking: 5K runners and walkers park in Lot 1; one-mile walkers park in Lot 2. \nThe entirety of the route will be on the campus of CCBC Essex. For safety reasons\, the race course is closed to animals\, bikes\, skaters and baby joggers or strollers. \nTo learn more and sign up click the Register button.

DESCRIPTION:A Note on the St. Michaels Running Festival presented by Brooks \nThe St. Michaels Running Festival presented by Brooks will not take place in 2026. While we made adjustments to our 2026 race plans based on feedback from the Town of St. Michaels\, hosting an event at the Charm City Run standard that our runners expect and deserve was no longer viable. \nWe are very disappointed that the race will not take place\, but wanted to thank our incredible partners at Brooks\, the St. Michaels Police Department\, Talbot County Department of Emergency Services and Sheriff’s Department\, the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum\, and our many charitable beneficiaries and volunteers\, all of whom have made this race one of the best on the east coast. \nWe apologize for any inconvenience this may cause\, as we know many of you have started to plan your trip to St. Michaels already. If you deferred your 2025 registration to 2026\, you will receive additional communication from our team on refund and registration options. Thank you for your understanding and support of Charm City Run\, and we will see you at another starting line soon.
